JOB DESCRIPTION:
Occupational Health Superintendent manages and implements industrial hygiene programs for the BP Cherry Point Refinery Business Unit. The Cherry Point Refinery is a 240Mbpd refinery with a petroleum coke calciner located in Blaine, WA. It produces gasoline, diesel, commercial jet fuel and by products including petroleum coke, sulfur and NGL's and employs approximately 800 employees.

The Occupational Health Superintendent leads a team of hygiene staff accountable for developing, maintaining and assuring day-to-day occupational health support to Operations, Maintenance, Turnaround and Capital Projects, providing technical service, facilitating implementation of practices to manage site health risks, and ensuring compliance with federal and state occupational health regulations as well as corporate standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer a candidate with the following experience:

* 10+ years of petrochemical experience

* 3+ years as a team leader/supervisor

* Knowledge and application of OSHA standards, engineering standards, emergency response and incident investigations.

* Ability to lead, motivate and work in teams and influence others without formal line authority.

* Ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

* Experience in working with outside stakeholders.

* Pro-active leadership and problem solving skills.

* Ability to provide direction to and coach senior managers on Safety and Health issues and opportunities.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Applied Science or Engineering and CIH certification
