JOB DESCRIPTION:
BP Cherry Point Refinery is currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer. This role will advise management on interpretation and application of rules and regulations, related to Safety, Health, Emergency response and Process Safety Management. This person will lead site-wide implementation of new and revised practices for major safety initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Safety or related discipline required.

Degree requirement may be substituted with significant work experience or other unique qualifications.

Five or more years of occupational safety experience in process related industry desired.Experience in development of safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, and incident investigations required. Process Safety Management experience desired. Knowledge in the application of local, state and federal safety standards and regulations.Knowledge of refinery operating and maintenance practices.Ability to supervise and/or coordinate multi disciplinary work group including contract personnel.Administration of budgets, schedules, personnel development and outside contracts.This BP location requires access to secure areas regulated by the Maritime Transportation Security Act. All employees must have a valid TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) . The successful candidate will be required to show a TWIC card on the first day of employment. This requires a TSA security threat assessment, including clearance through various federal and state criminal databases.
