Description:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the incumbent's principal challenge is to provide safe, cost effective maintenance programs at Vidalia.  He/she is also responsible for the supervision, substance and execution of all maintenance activities.   Responsibilities include identifying opportunities to lower cost of maintenance activities; providing appropriate communication of statistical data regarding maintenance activities; supervising all maintenance activities, including prioritization, scheduling and assignment of work in a way that maximizes equipment availability/reliability and minimizes the risk of hazards; obtaining quotations for equipment and services; approving invoices and managing budgets; providing recommendations for upgrading facilities and improving reliability and performance of existing and new facilities;  and working with production, quality and environmental, health and safety on a routine basis on problem solving and "continuous improvement"  opportunities.  

Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.  BASF recognizes Institutes of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.  Incumbent must also have a minimum of seven years manufacturing experience.  Strong technical knowledge, analytical knowledge, computer skills, communication skills and leadership abilities are essential.
