Performs
insurance/billing review and verification of
patient account information against insurance
program specifications. Communicates and
interacts with colleagues, hospital staff,
patients, public,physicians and their staff and
third party insurance personnel. Is responsible
for reporting identified safety issues such as
hazardous environments (i.e. damaged
floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and
medical errors. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of high school or
commercial coursework including math, bookkeeping
and business with 5 years of relevant work
experience or equivalent combination of training
and relevant work experience. Courses in
insurance billing, data processing and medical
terminology preferred. Knowledge of ICD-9 &
CPT-4 coding. Must be able to type 35 wpm and
operate CRT. Must be able to key 90 kspm with 90%
accuracy on the data.
